| Junior Glovers Easter Egg Hunt 2005
Each year as part of their membership the Junior Glovers get the chance to attend an event organised by the Green and White Supporters Club, where they have the opportunity of meeting the Yeovil Town players. In 2005 like the previous year this took the shape of an Easter egg hunt. A great day out was had by all the junior Glovers (And the grown ups too!) where all concerned did a lot more than just hunt for chocolate eggs!
The 2005 Junior Glovers Easter Egg Hunt took place on a wonderfully warm Easter Monday when 189 very excited Junior Glovers (and almost as many of their Mums and Dads!) descended on Huish Park to enjoy a day organised by the Green and White Supporters Club to not only celebrate Easter in glorious Glovers style, but to also hunt for endless chocolate Easter Eggs hidden through out the stadium, run off some of that pent up energy by playing a few games of football and running here there and every where in between, having a laugh with their mates, making loads of new friends, eating a well earned meal plus of course realising their dream of meeting their Yeovil Town footballing heroes.
| The Afternoon started off with the Junior supporters meeting up in the stadium where they soon filled part of the Yeovil College stand waiting for the players to arrive. There was a buzz of excitement in the air as the youngsters patiently waited for their heroes to finish training and come into the stadium to meet them. Before they know it the players entered the fray and mingled with everyone before making their way to the side of the pitch where they then spent the next hour signing autographs, having their pictures taken with the kids (and a few of the lucky Mums!) as well as chatting about the rigours of the season, plus the glory what all present felt lay ahead.
The players then collected on the pitch for a team picture before making their way up into the stand to sit with their adoring fans. They all sat there for quite some time chatting and having a laugh with their young fans. Eventually though Marilyn Cottle together with some help from Assistant Manager Steve Thompson managed to get some order and a sea of smiles for Ali King to take some pictures of every one sitting arm in arm enjoying the occasion of the day. All concerned had had a great time, but with a game on for the next day the squad had to eventually go home and leave the young supporters to enjoy the rest of the many activities organised for them.

| With the players now departed, the action could now start! The kids were split into groups, and over the course of the afternoon tired themselves out with a range of activities. Firstly there was the football on the all weather surface where teams of different age groups fought it out in a collection of exciting games. There was also of course the Easter Egg hunt itself which involved racing around the stands and terraces, tiring out the helpers whilst following clues to find the different stashes of chocolate eggs hidden amongst the seats and fixtures. The youngsters then had some time for themselves before coming inside to tuck into a well earned meal which included chicken, pizza, sausages, bakes potatoes, potato wedges, baked beans and

coleslaw. The day was then over, but everyone went home clutching their Easter eggs and happy in the knowledge that they had had a great day out with their mates, having also met their hero’s from the pitch.
The Green and White Supporters Club would like to give a very special thank you to Steve Thompson and the players for taking the time to come and make every one’s day. Many thanks also go out to the adult helpers who gave up their time to come along to supervise the event, and not least to Marilyn Cottle, Gayle Franklin and Zoë Caswell who did so much work behind the scenes to help the day run smoothly. And last but not least, a big Thank you to all the Junior Glovers for coming along and helping to make it such an enjoyable day. See you all for the 2006 event!
