Green & White Supporters Club Organised Events
|
On New Years Eve 2004 Paul Hadlow and Gayle Franklin decided to invite much of the back of Coach One to the Bowlplex Ten Pin Bowling complex in the centre of Yeovil. Paul subsequently organised the whole evening in time for everyone to descend on the Bowlplex and spent the evening bowling, playing pool and other amusements, drinking, eating and making merry seeing in 2005

| About fifteen green and white supporters including Gayle Franklin, Paul Hadlow, Nick Gillingham, Di Kingston, Nick James, Sara Bradley, Dale Rendell, Ali King, Zoë Caswell, Roy Toogood, Tony Streetin and Joe Wills attended the evening and had a great time seeing in the new year doing something a little different. On arriving the group split into two taking up two alleys next to each other in the centre of the complex. Most of the evening was spent bowling whilst making frequent visits to the bar which was conveniently near by! Back at the alleys, there were many star performers on show. Joe Wills had a slow start to the evening, but soon got his bowling arm warmed up and amazed everyone with a sublime performance often getting all the skittles down in one strike! There were many varying

games played by others with the likes of Nick Gillingham, Tony Streetin and Roy Toogood excelling and leaving most others standing!
It was not all bowling though. There was a slight surplus of bodies on each alley, so that gave people the chance to have a wander and play pool or have a go on the amusement machines. There was also a disco on hand, so if the fancy took anyone they could have a dance too.
As part of the evening’s package the Bowlplex also laid on a buffet made up of a variety of snacky foods including sandwiches, filled rolls, quiche, sausages, sausage rolls, chicken pieces, pizza, nuggets, cheese and pineapple, crisps and nuts as well as biscuits and other sweets. Everyone dug

When the midnight hour arrived the music was turned down and the countdown commenced to 2005 and into what will always be remembered as a famous year for the Glovers. The evening finished in the early to mid hours with all heading home to bed to reclaim some energy ready for a little trip to Wales later that day! When that time arrived the of town Yeovil invaded Swansea for it’s last visit to the Vetch Field. It was a cold day, but a glorious one as Gary Johnson’s men notched up a brilliant 2-0 win over their bitter rivals with Andrejs Stolcers and Phil Jevons both scoring spectacular goals to round of a perfect start to the new year.
